About me

Trevor comes from Ilminster in Somerset. He went to Durham and Leeds Universities and has an MSc in geophysics. He first became involved in Liberal politics whilst in Leeds, campaigning with the local party on housing.

After graduating he worked as an archaeologist, excavating sites in Britain, Europe, Australia, South America, Iraq and Turkey. Whilst digging in Bulgaria he met Olga, a Russian journalist, and they were married in Leningrad in 1991. They have three teenage daughters.

In 1992 he qualified as a driving instructor and now runs Hilperton Driving School. He was elected to West Wilts District Council in 1995 and re-elected in 1999, 2003 and 2007.

In 2009 he was elected to the new Wiltshire Council, representing the villages of Holt, Monkton Farleigh, South Wraxall and Staverton.

Trevor was ‘Leader of the Opposition’ on Wiltshire Council for its first year, and now has the Environment shadow portfolio.
